Ukrainians fight the elite of the Russian army
The war in Ukraine has entered a new phase of intensity and brutality, as the Ukrainian forces face off against some of the most elite units of the Russian army. In this blog post, we will show you how the Ukrainians are holding their ground and inflicting heavy losses on the invaders
One of the most dramatic battles took place near the town of Kostiantynivka, where the Ukrainians defended a strategic highway from a Russian assault. The Russians deployed the 331st Guards Parachute Regiment, an elite airborne unit that had previously fought in the Balkans, Chechnya, and the Donbas. The regiment’s commander, Colonel Sergei Sukharev, was killed in action and posthumously awarded the Hero of the Russian Federation medal. According to the BBC, at least 39 other members of the 331st regiment have died in Ukraine.
The Ukrainians, however, were not intimidated by the reputation of the 331st regiment. They used their superior knowledge of the terrain, their mobility, and their firepower to repel the attack. They also employed drones, snipers, and anti-tank weapons to target the Russian vehicles and personnel. In one video, we can see a Ukrainian drone dropping a grenade on a Russian armored car, causing a massive explosion. In another video, we can hear the Ukrainian soldiers cheering as they destroy a Russian tank with a rocket-propelled grenade.
The battle lasted for more than 14 hours, and ended with a decisive victory for the Ukrainians. They managed to destroy or capture 12 Russian tanks, 15 armored vehicles, and dozens of trucks and cars. They also captured several Russian soldiers, including a lieutenant colonel, who revealed the identity and the mission of the 331st regiment. The Ukrainians suffered only minor casualties, and celebrated their triumph with songs and prayers.
The battle of Kostiantynivka was not an isolated incident. Across the front, the Ukrainians have been able to defeat or resist the elite Russian units, such as the 45th Guards Spetsnaz Brigade, the 76th Guards Air Assault Division, and the 2nd Guards Motor Rifle Division. These units have been trained and equipped for rapid and decisive operations, but they have encountered fierce resistance from the Ukrainians, who have shown courage, determination, and ingenuity.
The war in Ukraine is far from over, and the situation remains tense and volatile. But the Ukrainians have proven that they are not willing to give up their sovereignty and their freedom to the Russian aggression. They have also demonstrated that they have a military mind that can match and surpass the best of the Russian army.
