In recent times, the world has witnessed the resilience and determination of Ukrainian forces as they continue their counteroffensive operations. These operations, spread across various sections of the front, have been marked by significant tactical advances, showcasing the strength and strategy of the Ukrainian military.

One of the notable achievements of the Ukrainian troops is their forward push near the city of Bakmud. This event, taking place in the western part of the border region between Donetsk and the Zaparita regions, signifies the strategic importance of the area. The ongoing skirmishes between both Russian and Ukrainian forces, especially along the Adiv Cardona City Line, have been intense, with neither side gaining a decisive upper hand. These limited ground attacks underscore the volatile nature of the conflict and the high stakes involved for both nations.

Amidst this backdrop, a significant development has emerged from Poland. Prime Minister Mataj Maroviesky, in collaboration with the president of the Polish Armaments Group, has signed a letter of intent. This intent revolves around the construction of a second assembly line for the Crab gun howitzers. This Polish design, having proven its mettle in battle on numerous occasions on the Ukrainian front, stands as a testament to the synergy between design and functionality. The Polish Armaments Group, recognizing the effectiveness of the Crab gun howitzers, has already entered into contracts for new units with both Ukraine and the Polish armed forces. The 40th Artillery Brigade’s collaboration with the self-propelled 155 millimeter Crab gun howitzers has been particularly impactful, causing significant disruptions in the Russian ranks.

Diving deeper into the structure and organization of the Ukrainian forces, one cannot overlook the Special Operations forces. Back in 2020, these forces were pioneers in the armed forces of Ukraine, being the first to adopt a standard headquarters structure typical for NATO armies. This alignment with NATO’s operational structure has been a strategic move, allowing for better coordination and integration with allied forces. Some of Ukraine’s special units are now fully integrated with the alliance’s Special Operation Forces. A noteworthy achievement in this regard was in 2019 when the 140th Special Operations Center received certification to be part of the NATO response Force. This was a historic moment, marking the first time a non-NATO state unit received such a distinction.

A vivid demonstration of the capabilities of Ukraine’s Special Operation Forces can be seen in their operations on the Left Bank of the Dnipro in the Herson region. The precision, coordination, and effectiveness of these operations provide a glimpse into the training and preparedness of these elite forces.

However, the conflict is not without its casualties. Recent footage from the famed Azov Brigade highlighted the intensity of the confrontations. In one such operation, 13 Russian servicemen met their demise due to artillery and gunfire, with 12 more sustaining injuries. The Ukrainian brigade’s fighters showcased their prowess by capturing two Russian prisoners, who are now in custody for potential future exchanges. Such operations have allowed the Ukrainian forces to significantly improve their tactical positions, providing them with strategic advantages in the ongoing conflict.
