The war between Russia and Ukraine has escalated to a new level of intensity, as both sides exchange fire across the border and beyond. In a stunning display of military might, Ukrainian forces have destroyed a Russian air defence system near the town of Kherson in the southern Kherson region, causing a massive explosion that was captured on video and published by The Sun.

The video shows a huge fireball rising into the sky, followed by thick black smoke, as the Russian Pantsir system is obliterated by Ukrainian artillery fire. The Pantsir is a sophisticated air defence system that can shoot down drones, missiles, and aircraft, and has been dubbed a “drone killer” by some experts. The system was reportedly deployed by Russia to protect its naval base in Sevastopol, Crimea, from Ukrainian attacks.

The destruction of the Pantsir is a major blow to Russia’s air defence capabilities in the region, and a sign of Ukraine’s determination to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Ukraine has been fighting a war against Russian-backed separatists in its eastern regions since 2014, when Russia annexed Crimea in a controversial referendum. The conflict has claimed over 14,000 lives and displaced millions of people.
