Avdiivka. Armed Forces of Ukraine Meet Russian Tanks.
The battle of Avdiivka is one of the most intense and decisive clashes in the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia. The town, located near the city of Donetsk, has been under constant attack by Russian forces and their proxies since February 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine.
Despite the overwhelming odds, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have managed to hold their ground and inflict heavy losses on the enemy. Using their courage, skill, and modern equipment, they have destroyed dozens of Russian tanks, artillery pieces, and other vehicles.
In this blog post, we will show you some of the most impressive examples of how the Ukrainian soldiers are fighting back and defending their homeland.
One of the units that is playing a key role in the defense of Avdiivka is the 47th separate mechanized brigade, also known as the PARAGON unit. This elite unit belongs to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and specializes in reconnaissance, sabotage, and counter-terrorism operations.
The PARAGON unit has been conducting daring raids and ambushes behind enemy lines, using their stealth, speed, and precision. They have also been providing accurate intelligence and fire support to their fellow units.
In the video below, you can see how the PARAGON soldiers perform jewel-precise work. Alongside their comrades in arms, they are destroying Russians in the Avdiivka direction. There’s a lot of destroyed Russian equipment, including a tank with the occupier’s tricolor burning on it.
Another unit that is making a difference in the battle of Avdiivka is the 73rd Maritime Center of the Special Operations Forces. This unit is composed of highly trained and experienced operators, who can operate in any environment and terrain. They are experts in maritime, amphibious, and airborne operations, as well as urban warfare and counter-terrorism.
The 73rd Maritime Center has been operating in the southern operational direction, where they have been scouting and identifying enemy targets. They have also been coordinating and adjusting the fire of the Ukrainian artillery units, which have been delivering devastating strikes on the enemy positions.
In the video below, you can see how the operators of the 73rd Maritime Center discovered and identified a camouflaged enemy self-propelled artillery installation 2S3 “Akatsia”. The soldiers quickly transferred the coordinates to one of the artillery units of the Defense Forces and adjusted the fire. A precise shot completely destroyed the enemy’s equipment.
